Toyota Etios Liva is the first small car from Toyota Motors in India. Until this car was introduced, Toyota had only big cars – both in size and cost – in India. However, realizing the high potential and huge demand enjoyed by the hatchbacks and compact cars in India, the company realigned its strategies and launched Etios Liva, a small car for the Indian car lover.
Toyota EtiosLivaonroad priced between 5.0 lakh and7.21 lakh rupees. Even though it cannot be named as the cheapest car in the segment, its competitive pricing makes the car affordable for the ordinary Indian car buyer. Liva is available in both petrol and diesel variants.
The diesel version of the car is powered by a 1.4-liter, 1364 cc, 4-cylinder, 8-valve, SOHC, D-4D diesel engine capable of generating 67.06 bhp power and 170 Nm torque. It offers DICOR (Direct Common Rail) Injection fuel supply system. The petrol variant has a 1.2-liter, 1197 cc, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine of 78.9 bhp and 104 Nm torque. The fuel supply system is Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) type. Both variants offer a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. Automatic variants of Liva are not available at present.
Liva returnsa mileage of 23.59 kmpl and 17.71 kmpl on diesel and petrol variants respectively. It offers safety features like SRS airbags for the driver and the front passenger, ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer, keyless entry, driver seatbelt warning and door ajar warning, and much more. Some of the desirable features in the car are air conditioner, Bluetooth connectivity, good boot space, sophisticated music system, power windows and steering mounted controls.
